We are partnered with a Utility-Scale Renewables IPP in Chicago looking to bolster their team with a Director of Capital Markets to lead their finance team. Candidates with backgrounds in banking, investment, project finance, structured finance, and capital markets will all be considered, as long as they have direct renewables experience. You must be able to manage and lead transactions from inception to close and be comfortable working in a cross-functional team where you will also play a part in project finance and M&A transactions. Key Responsibilities: Manage the execution and daily oversight of project finance activities, including construction financing, term debt, letters of credit, and tax equity transactions. Oversee and enhance the utilization of the companys revolving credit facility to support ongoing development initiatives. Drive financial modeling efforts to inform project financing strategies, pricing frameworks, and portfolio optimization. Provide strategic support for evaluating and initiating new financing opportunities. Lead transaction execution, including managing lender/investor due diligence and coordinating with external advisors to achieve successful financial closings. Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and external advisors (legal, technical, and tax) to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and timeliness of deliverables for financial closings. Track and analyze the financial performance of the companys project portfolio to identify and implement opportunities for improvement and optimization. Oversee compliance with loan and tax equity agreements during project construction and funding phases. Contribute to business planning by maintaining and updating portfolio-wide valuation models and preparing strategic presentations. Stay informed on market and regulatory developments, including ITC/PTC policies, direct pay mechanisms, tariffs, supply chain dynamics, interest rate trends, and merchant market forecasts. Requirements 6 years working in renewable energy finance. Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or math-related field preferred Experience modeling structured debt, equity, and tax equity financing
