Lead Data Architect

Description
Provide leadership in
the design and development of data warehouse architecture for a university
medical system. Develop extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) standards
and templates; provide guidance on how to manage and enhance the data warehouse
and associated datamarts; set enterprise standards for the data objects.
Provide technical support in the areas of ETL, logical and physical data
structures and data modeling. Help define the level of effort for data
architecture and data warehouse management. Identify risks and issues that
impact deliverables across the data warehouse and business intelligence architecture.
Lead and mentor junior level developers.
Salary Range: $126,214 - $256,900 annuallyQualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science or
a related IT field. Five years of
experience in job offered, or as a data manager, data warehouse developer or a
related occupational title. Microsoft
Certified Azure Data Engineer, IBM Certified Solution Developer -Infosphere
DataStage.
The following can be gained concurrently with the required
number of years of experience, not in addition to:
5 years of
experience building and managing enterprise level data integration and data
transformation platforms on-prem and in cloud.
5 years of
experience working in academic environment managing school financial data and
academic data including student assessment and instructor evaluation, student
enrollment
5 years of
experience using erwin to design logical and physical data models, implement
database standards and procedures.
5 years
experience implementing data warehousing methodologies using relational
database management system software (RDBMS) including MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle DB,
and Azure.
5 years of
experience programming in SQL, including PLSQL and T-SQL.
5 years of
experience with extraction, transformation and load (ETL) development and
standards, including standardization of ETL development and execution for
large-scale enterprise data sources.
5 years of
experience utilizing standard ETL tools including SSIS, ODI, and Azure ADF.
5 years of
demonstrated experience and knowledge of programing languages including Python,
R, SAS, Shell script.
The following skills and experiences does not require a set
period of time as demonstration of proficiency:
Demonstrated
understanding of the full business intelligence development lifecycle,
including Cognos, Tableau, Power BI;
Demonstrated
experience exercising continuous quality improvement and leading organizational
change through the use of data-driven decision making.
Demonstrated
experience communicating technical and key concepts to technical and
non-technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management in order to
influence and drive decision making.
Experience working in
group environment with over ten team members that includes technical and
non-technical staff.
