This position will require a self-directed, team-oriented individual who demonstrates pride and ownership in his or her work and is willing to accept responsibility for the upkeep of, and maintenance for, the technical systems in the Press required to produce quality dry pasta products. The Advanced Processing Team Member must possess above average mechanical skills and be fully capable of understanding mixer, extruder and drying theories and operation. This position will require the person to work flexible hours, and days.

Job Description:

Monitor and revise, upon consultation with the Production Manager, recipes for all shapes. Assist the plant maintenance team in the performance of preventative maintenance. Provide feedback and input for continuous improvement of the Press PM program. Develop training materials on the drying process and basic operations of each press. Assist in training and development of press employees. Establish and document baseline parameters and operating conditions required to consistently produce quality product with minimal defects. With sanitation and quality input, develop and ensure that basic housekeeping of the presses occurs, providing improvement opportunities and feedback. SME on the semolina process, drying curve, and basic operation of the presses. Perform operational adjustments plus breakdown and preventive maintenance for the flour handling system, presses, dryers and related support equipment. Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise. Monitor and troubleshoot all presses, dryers and control systems. Maintain required logs and records for the press area and equipment Monitor and troubleshoot the flour unloading equipment and flour handling system to ensure delivery of proper ingredients to presses. Monitor and direct replacement of die inserts as necessary. Ensure compliance with all safety programs and maintain hazard free work areas. Use sound judgement in exercising caution to ensure personal safety and the safety of others. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with press operators, press helpers, leads, packaging operators, schedulers, lab technicians, and material handlers to insure efficient production levels with minimal mistakes. Qualifications & Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required. Technical degree preferred. 5+ years of manufacturing experience, process control experience preferred. Must demonstrate good communication skills and be able to understand and interpret equipment training manuals and drawings. Must demonstrate understanding of press equipment training manuals and drawings. Must demonstrate above average math skills. Must possess a solid mechanical aptitude combined with technical training and/or the equivalent in manufacturing experience (preferably in food manufacturing). Demonstrate creative troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Demonstrate understanding of PLC theory and programming. Solid working knowledge of the following support equipment: Boilers, Pumps and circulating systems Air Compressors and pneumatic systems Pneumatic conveying theory and related systems Pasta drying theory and related systems Pasta drying theory and related instrumentation Understand and operate basic maintenance shop equipment. Physical Activity / Working Conditions:

Ability to navigate plant and grounds to support Audit programs. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
