First Quality Enterprises is seeking an energetic, detail oriented Senior Benefits Specialist based in Great Neck, NY. The role reports into the Benefits Manager and works closely with HR at our various sites and cross functionally to administer benefit programs, ensure compliance, respond to benefits related inquiries, manage escalated employee concerns while maintaining and building internal controls.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Responds to benefit inquiries from HR and employees on plan requirements or changes, benefits enrollments, status changes, claim issues.
  • Administers benefit program utilizing Workday; manages enrollments, terminations, changes, and employee questions/issues
  • Ensure quality service and timely resolution of issues, to foster positive relations with HR
  • Liaison with vendors regarding claims, eligibility, and ongoing service
  • Audit enrollment data in benefit partner systems to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with all aspects of Open Enrollment and contribute to other HR initiatives and projects as needed
  • Assist in Wellness program administration
  • Assists with the distribution of all benefits enrollment materials and eligibility validations.
  • Verifies the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and resolves administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Collaborate with finance department for vendor payments and retirement plan contributions
  • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Identifies reporting requirements regarding benefits and may develop reports or work with internal partners to develop reports
  • Responsible for HRIS system testing and providing feedback
  • Determines vendor integration needs and works with HRIS to establish requirements for any new interfaces or adjustments to existing interfaces
  • Appropriately escalate issues to Benefits Manager
  • Process monthly benefits invoices


The ideal candidate should possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of benefits program and administration experience in mid to large sized organizations
  • Solid knowledge of health & welfare and retirement plans
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and HRMS system, Workday preferably
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Collaborate and work cross-functionally to support team on ad hoc projects as needed


Estimated annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $80,000 - 100,000 + annual bonus.

Base pay is only part of our total compensation package, which also includes an attractive annual discretionary bonus and robust suite of employee benefits for which you are eligible to participate in starting on your first day of employment.

Base pay offered will be determined on an individualized basis and we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
