KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role supports the design & development of the refrigeration and airside sub-sections for the light commercial rooftop units.
The ideal candidate will work with global and cross disciplinary teams to apply model-based design, and verification tools and methods to create the next generation of HVAC/R packaged equipment for building applications. This candidate will have the ability to complete modeling and confirmation testing as required by small and medium rooftop product programs. Ideally, s/he will have familiarity with the design and development of packaged HVAC systems.

Main responsibilities include:
- Effective communication, written and verbal, with global and diverse audiences
- Ability to work with design teams to understand and translate design and process engineering requirements into product line design components, subsystems, and products.
- Ability to understand product/component function, reliability, and quality requirements
- Collaborate with Quality/Reliability to implement key metrics into the design of the product and ensure all reliability design goals are achieved
- A working understanding of refrigeration systems, and/or electrical system requirements in order to assess internal data and supplier data
- Responsible for small concurrent projects. Must effectively process projects from start to completion with minimal supervision.
- Contributes to the team or department by applying their knowledge of one or more functional areas
- Has in depth knowledge of Mechanical Engineering
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree with 2+ years of HVAC design or refrigeration experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-starter with ability to learn quickly and work independently under moderate direction and be mentored by a senior level engineer daily.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid flow, and heat transfer
- Solid technical skills and analytical proficiency
- Understand basic electronic controls function in HVAC equipment
- Ability to write technical specifications
- Experience in new product development or testing environment
- Highly skilled in Microsoft; Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
- At least 3+ years of mechanical experience
OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience in thermo-fluid system control development
- Basic experience in Matlab/Simulink, Visual Basic, C/C++, and Python
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering
