PURPOSE

The Director of Business Systems Optimization will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and optimization of business systems. These are the workflows and software systems that support the transactional processing, reporting and analytics needs of CVA. This role ensures that assigned systems align with organizational goals, improve operational efficiency, ensure system compliance and support business growth. The role will collaborate across the enterprise to identify needs, implement solutions, and manage ongoing system enhancements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Mange the relationship and act as divisional liaison with vendors of assigned business systems, software and technology.
  • Align workflows and business systems with vision and strategic imperatives of Central Valley Ag.
  • Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to manage the gap analysis, configuration and customization of assigned systems to best meet objectives and optimal use from: idea, to business plan and implementation.
  • Support the development, maintenance and use of project structure that will best serve the evaluation, upgrade, implementation and integration of system changes to CVA's ecosystem of workflows and technologies. Provide related project management where requested.
  • Develop and own test scripts for business systems to ensure upgrades and enhancements work correctly and reduce the risk of unintended consequences.
  • Own the enterprise list of defects and enhancement requests for assigned systems and work to resolve, update and prioritize for resolution meeting the needs of the organization.
  • Mange user accounts, roles, and permissions for assigned systems.
  • Manage a team that provides frontline support for users of assigned business systems with a culture of world class customer support.
  • Supports the validation of changes and enhancements to system interfaces that are built and maintained by the Technology Team.
  • Provides analysis and documentation of current business workflows and processes to identify risks as well as enable optimization and automation.
  • Develop change management plans with managers, supervisors, co-workers, patrons and others to include Standard Operating Procedures, training programs, training materials and events to integrate changes to business systems within CVA.
  • Develops work plans and orchestrates the examination of records of departments, interviews of employees and analyzes data for evidence of adherence to standard operating procedures and accounting procedures, deficiencies in internal controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud or lack of compliance with external regulations as related to CVA's use of business systems.
  • Ensures data integrity and consistency across platforms through auditing the proficiency of understanding and SOP adoption throughout CVA.
  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations for management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 4 to 6 employees.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in conjunction with division heads. Focus on highly engaged workforce with great communication skills.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • 4-year degree in accounting, finance or information systems or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and collaboration with Information Technology departments.
  • Is familiar with and delivers administrative automation projects using process improvement techniques and technologies such as Robotic Process Automation.
  • Experience using a Risk Assessment Procedures to measure controls infrastructure.
  • Show knowledge of ERP systems administration such as best practices for maintaining and integrating upgrades and new systems.
  • Familiarity with Coupa, Ever.Ag Merchant Ag, Vena, iAuditor or equivalent systems preferred.
  • Ag background showing knowledge of Midwestern grain farming practices and technologies such as precision ag concepts.
  • Experience working with a data governance framework and deciphering a database structure.
  • Knowledge of database query languages such as SQL, MS Fabric, PowerBI and other data analytics platforms.
