They are responsible for the developer experience, security, and scalability of all public-facing APIs at CoreWeave. As a Senior Engineer on the team, you'll focus on creating robust, developer-friendly APIs and tools that make it easy for teams to onboard their services while ensuring performance and reliability. You'll work at the intersection of API design, developer experience, and platform architecture to help scale CoreWeave's growing API ecosystem.Design and develop CoreWeave's central API platform that enables teams to expose their services through a unified, secure, and monitored gatewaySupport infrastructure-as-code integrations to enable programmatic resource management, including contributions to our Terraform providerDrive architectural decisions around API authentication, rate limiting, caching strategies, and other platform-wide concernsBuild observability solutions for the API platform, including detailed metrics, logging, and tracing capabilities to help teams monitor their API performance and usageBuild and maintain comprehensive API governance tools and processes, including OpenAPI specification validation, versioning strategies, and backwards compatibility checksWork closely with our security engineering team to implement best practices for API security, performance, and reliability, ensuring our platform meets the highest industry standards.Create developer tooling and documentation that help other teams onboard their services to the API platform efficientlyMentor other engineers on API design best practices and help establish standards for APIs across the organizationInvesting in our people is one of our top priorities, and we value candidates who can bring their diversified experiences to our teams. We'd love to talk about whether this aligns with your experience and interests and what you’re excited to work on next.Who You AreMinimum Qualifications7+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade APIsStrong experience with Go programming language and its ecosystemStrong understanding of API gateway patterns, microservices architecture, and distributed systemsExperience implementing authentication, authorization, and security best practices for APIsFamiliarity with observability practices including metrics, logging, and distributed tracingExperience with KubernetesExcellent communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience with the Kubernetes Operator pattern and building Kubernetes controllersExperience with gRPC and protocol buffer designExperience building and maintaining Terraform providersExperience with alternative IaC platforms like Pulumi or CrossplaneExperience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.)Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $185K-$200K. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.What We OfferThe range we’ve posted represents the typical compensation range for this role.
