The Director of Capture at Strongbridge will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our federal IT services portfolio. This position requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the federal acquisition landscape, particularly in IT services, who can effectively manage and lead capture efforts through the full lifecycle of business development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in winning federal contracts and be well-versed in the Shipley Business Development process.
Successful candidates for the Director of Capture position at Strongbridge will possess the ability to conceptualize a compelling vision for winning government contracts. They will be adept at developing a comprehensive capture plan that implements this vision, translating it into effective win themes. As the procurement process unfolds, they must be capable of adapting the vision to evolving circumstances, ensuring alignment with client needs and competitive dynamics. The Director will focus on managing and directing capture activities and coordinating both internal and external teams to achieve the vision, culminating in the submission of a winning proposal. Furthermore, they will assist in preparing the execution team to operate efficiently and effectively post-award.
In addition to the primary responsibilities of the role, the Director will gain valuable exposure to a diverse range of customers, markets, and technologies across Strongbridge's areas of expertise. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage capture efforts across various stages of the business development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, leveraging customer relationships and industry insights.
- Conduct competitive analysis and develop capture strategies that align with Strongbridge’s capabilities and market trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and proposals that meet client needs.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and inspire collaboration across teams to ensure alignment with portfolio requirements.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their objectives and align Strongbridge’s capabilities accordingly.
- Deliver strategic recommendations for market opportunities, competitive landscape, and corporate capability alignment.
- Ensure compliance with federal proposal requirements and lead the development of winning proposal strategies.
- Mentor and guide team members in best practices for capture management and proposal development.

Position Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in business development, capture management, or delivery of IT services to the federal government.
- At least 3 years of experience facilitating federal capture activities.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Shipley Business Development process.
- Familiarity with government contracting and current acquisition trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
*Additional Years of experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.
Desired Requirements:
- Experience in facilitating capture activities for large-scale ($100M+) federal contracts.
- Proven track record of winning federal contracts.
- Knowledge of federal IT systems and contracting processes.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience managing projects and processes based on the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK).
Pay Range:
$150,000 - $170,000
The posted pay range reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
