Who are we hiring?

The Kansas City Current is hiring a Director, Stadium Production, who is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and execution of all video production efforts for CPKC Stadium, including live events, private events and Kansas City Current Soccer Matches. This role oversees the creative and technical aspects of video content, ensuring high-quality results for both pre-recorded projects and live productions. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in live event production, video and audio technology, and team leadership, combining operational excellence with creative vision to deliver impactful experiences.   • Live Event Expertise: Proficient in multi-camera setups, live-streaming technology, and real-time video switching.
  • Audio-Visual Mastery: Knowledge of professional-grade cameras, microphones, lighting, audio mixers, and video switchers.
  • Editing Software Proficiency: Expertise in tools like Ross Expressions, Qsys, Dante, and Adobe Suite.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues during both live events and pre-recorded productions.
  • Streaming Platforms: Familiarity with platforms like YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Zoom, and proprietary event streaming services.
  • Team Oriented: Experience working with creative teams, revenue generating stakeholders, fostering collaboration, and inspiring high-quality work.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Proven ability to manage production budgets, create rate cards for services and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Creative Vision: Ability to develop and execute creative concepts that align with brand identity and audience needs.

What will you do?

Creative Direction
  • Call shows by commanding control room staff and production elements including lighting, music, video, PA, entertainment, etc.
  • Act as primary contact for Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Retail, Ticket Sales, Communications and Community Relations to book game presentation talent, coordinate recognitions and ensure execution of match elements
  • Closely collaborate with the Executive Director of Marketing and Executive Director of Content & Creative on the build-out and integration of game presentation assets
  • Provide input and share best practices for production room setup, equipment and operations
  • Drive the creative development of the run-of-show and scripted content for events, ensuring alignment with brand standards and audience expectations.
  • Oversee the production of various types of content and communications, including advertisements, branded storytelling, press conferences and live-streamed events.

Strategic Vision and Planning
  • Develop and lead the video production strategy, aligning it with the company's marketing, branding, and business objectives.
  • Plan and oversee all live and pre-recorded video projects, ensuring optimal use of resources and adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Research and implement the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in video and live event production.

Live Event Video Production
  • Oversee the technical setup and execution of live event video production, including camera operations, audio mixing, lighting, and streaming technologies.
  • Lead the coordination of live event broadcasts, ensuring seamless execution and a high-quality audience experience.
  • Collaborate with event planners, technical crews, and other departments to ensure alignment with the event's goals and technical requirements.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges in real-time during live events to minimize disruptions.

Audio-Visual Technology Management
  • Lead the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio-visual equipment for both live and recorded productions, including cameras, microphones, lighting, and video switchers.
  • Stay updated on advancements in audio-visual tools and recommend upgrades or new technologies to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure all productions meet technical standards, including proper sound mixing, video resolution, and platform-specific requirements.

Project Management
  • Oversee end-to-end production processes, from pre-production planning to post-production editing and final delivery.
  • Manage schedules, production timelines, and third-party vendors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to define project scopes, rate cards and deliverables.

Team Player
  • Manage vendors, broadcasters and freelance operators, editors, producers, and talent.
  • Work closely with other internal departments to ensure Kansas City Current matches have the highest level of entertainment and fan engagement.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to ensure Partner content and activation meets the best standards available.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment where team members feel empowered to contribute ideas.

Quality Control and Performance Tracking
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for all video and audio content.
  • Review and analyze the performance of live and recorded content to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct post-event and post-project evaluations to continuously improve production workflows and outcomes.
  • Ensure that video and audio elements are cohesive, high-quality, and optimized for various platforms and audiences.


What do you need to succeed?

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Video Production, Audio Engineering, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in video production, with at least 3 years focused on live event production.
  • Proven track record of producing highly entertaining and engaging live events

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with a focus on detail and deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of live-streaming platforms, video switchers, and multi-camera production setups.
  • Expertise in video software (e.g., Ross Expressions, vMix, BlackMagic, Elgato) and audio mixing tools (e.g., Dante, QSys).
  • Familiarity with lighting design, camera operation, and sound systems for live productions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly under the time pressures of live events.

Technical Proficiency
  • Expertise in audio-visual technology, including professional-grade cameras, microphones, lighting equipment, and live streaming hardware/software.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment issues in real time.
  • Knowledge of encoding and broadcasting for live-streamed content on platforms like YouTube, Zoom, and custom virtual event platforms.
  • Knowledge of fiber-based audio video infrastructures


Special requirements of the Job:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
  • Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time sensitive matters with senior executives.
  • Physical requirements include lifting or carrying 50 pounds, standing, sitting or walking around CPKC Stadium for extended periods of time and well as working in outdoor weather conditions.
