This opportunity requires a background in construction management from best practices to on-site performance. Direct design/construction experience in the civil sector, such as utility infrastructure, roadway construction, stormwater management and maintenance will be applicable to join this civil utility firm. Given a history of operating small daily bids to multi-year contracts up to $30M, knowledge of government contracts is highly valuable. We're looking for someone with management experience who can describe your success in finding new projects, submitting winning bids, and managing them to completion. Position: Estimator/Project Manager
Location: Baltimore, MD
Compensation: $120K - 160K, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities:
Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, including labor, materials, equipment, permits and other expenses
Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and relevant documents to understand project scope
Solicit and compare bids from material suppliers and subcontractors to determine the most competitive costs for labor and materials
Minimize project budget risks by identifying and addressing potential cost overruns

Maintain accurate records of all estimating data and bid documents
Track project estimates during bidding process and after award
Stay up-to-date on construction trends, material costs and industry best practices
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent training and work experience.
3-5 years in Construction management with related technical and analytical skills
Proven ability to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for construction projects
Experience with government contracts is a plus!
Experience with relevant construction estimating software, including Microsoft Office
Top candidates will have demonstrated excellence in construction management and estimating
Certifications not mandatory, but beneficial to supplement knowledge base
