LAB ASSISTANT PATHOLOGY NON LICENSE - PATHOLOGY

Salary Range: 22.50 - 33.59 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Laboratory Assistant I verifies, processes (including complex and multiple step processing) and prepares specimens for clinical lab and reference lab testing. Communicates testing results with customers as well as inter and intra department as needed. Performs equipment maintenance, helps maintain department supplies par levels, and prepares and distributes supplies for specimen collection. May assist with quality assurance data collection and recording, and action/follow-up.
The Lab Assistant I projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct, and supports the laboratory mission. The Lab Assistant will maintain current knowledge of departmental updates, policies and procedures. Uses initiative to resolve problems with appropriate action and follow through, including documentation in the laboratory's error tracking system. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Baccalaureate Degree including science courses preferred.
