BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Howard University is seeking a highly skilled Workday Financials Senior Business Analyst to drive the success of our Record-to- Report (R2R) processes. This role involves optimizing financial reporting, general ledger management, reconciliations, and end-to-end process integration across accounting and financial reporting functions. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in Workday Financials with strong analytical and collaboration skills to streamline workflows and deliver data-driven insights.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
This role is responsible for implementing Workday post-production support initiatives across Workday Financials, including identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance automation, and improve efficiency in R2R operations. Collaborate with cross-functional team to integrate R2R processes with procurement, payables, expenses, and other functionalities. Act as a liaison between Accounting/Finance and cross-functional teams to address system-related issues and improvements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Configure and maintain Workday Financials modules (e.g., financial accounting, account reconciliation & certifications, etc.), security and business processes to align with the University's' needs.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize financial reports, dashboards, and analytics using Workday Financials to support decision-making across the oCFO and the organization.
- Provide training and ongoing support to end-users on the effective use of Workday Financials, ensuring users are fully equipped to leverage the platform's capabilities.
- Work with business subject matter experts to document requirements, use cases and facilitate UAT.
- Lead system testing for new features, configurations, and system upgrades, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to business processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar and diction. Ability to summarize impact of financial accounting and reporting requirements clearly and concisely.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with Workday Finance specific modules, including analytics and reporting, Workday Prism, close and consolidation, and others as necessary. Experience with Workday's reporting tools, such as Report Writer, BIRT, Workday Studio, or Composite Reporting. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, computer science or related field with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. Ability to establish and maintain respectful and collaborative working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and stakeholders, including general public.Workday Certification (Record to Report; or Financials), Certified Information Technology Professional, CISA, CIA, or other accounting certification.
Compliance Salary Range Disclosure
Expected Salary Range: $145,000 - $152,000
