This position will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and interpreting data related to sales, manpower, and expansion strategies. The role will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze large data sets and provide recommendations for business improvement. The position will be expected to gather and analyze data, develop insights and recommendations, and communicate findings to stakeholders. The analysis will help guide business decisions related to sales and pricing strategy, workforce planning, location expansion, and market potential.

About the role:

The Commercial Finance Analyst partners with the Commercial and Marketing teams as well as other members of the Erie Home organization to provide sales and financial analytics that drive business results in support of the short-term and long-term objectives of the business. The position delivers analysis working with commercial, marketing, operations, and finance team members to link financial results to commercial performance drivers.

How you will make an impact:

Influence the performance of the business with data driven insights and an outside-in perspective:

• Gathering and analyzing sales and margin data to understand key drivers of profitability by office, region, material, and customer

• Communicating analytical insights to commercial and marketing teams to drive informed business decisions

• Demonstrate significant ability to leverage toolsets such as PowerBI to monitor trends and identify solutions; challenge and drive business decisions

• Provides insightful and competitive analytics that anticipate change and drive decision making

• Apply external perspective and maintain knowledge of Erie Home's competitive environment, market conditions, customers, and profit drivers

• Develop models to forecast demand and supply of manpower and recommend staffing levels to ensure optimal workforce utilization.

• Track and analyze Erie Home market share to inform strategic growth decisions

• Key partner to commercial and executive teams to drive annual Strategic Planning process

• Participates in the development of strategic and operational objectives

Prepare sales forecasts and plans while managing clear, controlled reporting and analysis:

• Partner with commercial team to develop, maintain, and analyze bottoms-up sales forecasts by office, region, and material for forecasting and annual planning processes

• Provides in-depth commercial analysis on variances to plan, forecast, and prior year

• Provide thoughtful business insights/analytics and business performance evaluations to ensure that business leaders are effective in creating and executing Erie Home's strategy and operating plan

Lead across the company and finance function:

• Own continuous improvement of applicable tools, analytical models, methodologies, and reports

• Acts as a resource to non-financial stakeholders to ensure that data-based decision making occurs throughout the business

• Work across organizational boundaries and levels of the company to achieve business objectives

• Share business and financial best practices across the company and finance organization

Requirements

• 3-7 years of progressive experience as a commercial and/or FP&A analyst in a corporate environment; experience in a multi-site, direct-to-consumer business in the home improvement industry a plus

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline

• Extensive experience and proficiency in PowerBI, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
