Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

The Process Improvement Analyst position will be charged with assisting B&F management to improve business processes and transform management use of business data to create metrics to drive decision making.

They will work as a member of the Process Improvement team to manage business process review, new projects, and change management within the Business and Finance Division to define and optimize operations to align with industry best practices and University's Strategic goals

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

North Carolina A&T State University is an 1890 land-grant doctoral higher research university dedicated to learning, discovery, and community engagement.

The Business and Finance Division's mission is to be student centered while maintaining fiscal integrity and providing quality support services to faculty, staff, and external customers. The Business and Finance Division consists of the following units: Budget & Planning, Campus Enterprises, Comptroller, Facilities, Procurement Services, University Police, Human Resources, and Process Improvement/Operational Excellence.

The Process Improvement/Operational Excellence Unit supports the Business & Finance division and the University strategic goals by assisting with continuous improvement and review of our business services to internal and external stakeholders, as well as, the implementation of innovative best practices. Our goal is to help Business and Finance optimize operational effectiveness and efficiencies with a commitment to support the University's compliance, teaching, research, and student success outcomes.

The Process Improvement Analyst position will play a key role on the Business and Finance Process Improvement/Operational Excellence Team to lead change management, new initiatives, and process documentation review for improvements with other B&F managers.

Minimum Requirements

Master degree in Business, Finance, or Management with 1- 2 years of related work experience; Bachelors degree in with 4 years of related experience.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

The candidate should have deep understanding of business financial operations along with Project management experience. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skill sets:
  • Project management experience within finance or business operations
  • Strong leadership skills and experience leading subject matter experts & cross functional teams toward a common objective
  • Ability to develop Business process analysis and measurement methods
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives that lead to cost saving.
  • Experience leading change management from both a technical and functional system and organizational perspective
  • Experience working with and evaluating Higher Education back office business systems.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft suite of products related to job requirements.
