My client is a well known Automotive Manufacturer that has several small production sites around Springfield, MA, with roughly 300 employees total. They have been around for over a hundred years and work primarily with metal materialscreate their state of the art products.
Job Description
In this role you will report to the Manufacturing Manager and be responsible for:
- Recommending process improvements, problem-solving strategies, and employee training initiatives.
- Enhancing manufacturing processes and methods to achieve cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased efficiency.
- Developing and presenting implementation plans, including team member training and deployment coordination.
- Monitoring manufacturing equipment processes to ensure optimal performance.
- Leading investigations into manufacturing abnormalities, identifying root causes, and proposing effective countermeasures.
- Identifying opportunities for safety improvements and risk mitigation.
- Supporting capacity analysis and ROI evaluations for current and future manufacturing plans.
- Assisting in time studies, capital planning, and other initiatives alongside the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team.
- Aiding in refining production control systems, standard operating procedures, safety protocols, quality control, and training programs.
- Coordinating the launch of new or revised products by setting goals, training team members, and assessing outcomes.
- Designing, developing, testing, and/or procuring tools, machinery, and equipment to support recommended manufacturing methods.
- Conducting product and process analyses to achieve cost savings, quality enhancements, and operational efficiency.
- Representing the manufacturing department on cross-functional teams to drive collaborative success.
- Assembling mechanical and electronic devices and systems, referencing engineering specifications, blueprints, and layouts.
- Demonstrating expertise in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
The Successful Applicant
A successful candidate will have:
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- CAD drawing, tooling, and fixturing skills
- Hands on trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Math and computer skills
- High volume/ fast paced manufacturing environment preferred
- Metals experience a plus!
