Licensed School Counselor - MiddleSchool - Sterling, VA

School counselors are licensed educators with a minimum of a Master's degree in School Counseling and are uniquely qualified to address the academic, career, and personal/social needs of all students. By designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive school counseling program, school counselors serve to promote and enhance student success.

* Active license with the Virginia Department of Health & Virginia Department of Education (VDOE)

* New Grads are welcomed to apply as well as experienced counselors.

* Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

* School year 2024 - 2025

• The School Counselors' primary purpose is to advocate for the student;
• School Counselors adhere to the standards for school counseling programs in Virginia Public Schools and to the American School Counselor Association's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
• The School Counseling Program is a critical component within the school system and is integral to the academic, personal/social, and career development and progress of each student;
• The School Counseling Program helps build a positive school environment by encouraging collaboration among counselors, teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and the community to further student achievement;
• The School Counseling program is inclusive, culturally competent, and developmentally appropriate to help support all students;
• The School Counseling Program is in alignment with the American School Counselor Association Model (ASCA);
• The comprehensive School Counseling Program is continuously refined and improved through systemic review and evaluation of data.
