We are seeking an Accountant Associate to assist in preparing and processing period journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and Client policies. The role involves supporting project and finance managers with accounting guidance, validating projects, and performing various accounting tasks related to capital and expense management. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

We are seeking an Accountant Associate to assist in preparing and processing period journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and Client policies. The role involves supporting project and finance managers with accounting guidance, validating projects, and performing various accounting tasks related to capital and expense management. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare/process period journal entries in accordance with month-end close, including IT cross charges, prepaid amortizations, and accruals. Translate existing SAP ECC to S4 Hana account mapping.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and Client policies for all spending (capital and expense) and support.
- Account reconciliations, including reconciling data between two ERP systems (SAP ECC to S4 Hana).
- Provide accounting guidance to Project and Finance Managers. Review expense spending throughout the project life cycle and contracts to provide accounting recommendations.
- Validate and prepare projects for release during the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process and Out of Plan.
- Perform project-related SOX controls for Capital Spend and Prepaid Expenses.
- Maintain Strategy & Transformation (IT) Project accounting by researching and reclassifying misclassified data.
- Handle ad hoc project requests related to accounting and financial data.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related business field.
- 2 years of relevant accounting/financial experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles with the ability to understand and reconcile financial data.
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and make decisions autonomously.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to provide insights to cross-functional teams.
- Experience with SAP FICO and Project Systems.
- Knowledge of SOP 98-1 (Capitalization/Amortization of Software and Cloud Computing Arrangements).
- Familiarity with Client businesses and processes.
- Experience with SAP ledger and Business Warehouse (BW) Reporting for data analytics is a plus.
- CPA preferred or a CPA candidate.
