- The Development Specialist is primarily responsible for coordinating all donor acknowledgment and tax receipt communications and implementing/administering the donor database.
- Enter and track all donor information in the database, and provide administrative support to the Director of Grants and Advancement Operations and the Sr. Director of Advancement.
- Assists with fundraising and promotional events as well as assists with implementing development appeals and assists with donor, grant and prospect research.
- Implement, administer, and manage donor database system; event registration and ticketing software; produce development reports, and manage access to the donor database system.
- Execute all donor acknowledgments and tax receipt letters within organization guidelines and state and federal guidelines.
- Enter all organization donations, monetary gifts, and other contributions into the donor database system.
- Represent the Advancement department when needed at functions, events and organizational committee meetings.
- Maintain donor confidentiality regarding gifts and development matters.
- Assist with grant research, submissions and tracking for the organization.
- Work closely with accounting staff to assist with reconciling financial records for the Advancement department.
- Assist Advancement team members with preparation submission and mailing of fundraising appeals, proposals, grants, reports, and other materials as needed.
- Serve as administrative support staff for the Advancement Department.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Two (2) years relative experience required.
- Must possess excellent writing, communications, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proficient with computer software programs including MS Office, Excel, Outlook, InDesign, and database programs.
- Previous database experience, Raiser's Edge preferred.
- Must also have the ability to relate well to staff, donors, and volunteers.
