Role Overview
The Civil Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of various civil engineering projects. This role includes coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with standards, and managing project timelines and budgets efficiently. The manager will act as a key liaison, fostering collaborative relationships to achieve project objectives successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to mitigate risks and resolve issues promptly.
- Lead and manage a design team from concept design through construction document development, including the production of drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports for permit agency (DOT) approval, bidding, and construction.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and planners to plan, design, and oversee construction of a variety of projects.
• Client Management: Act as the client's representative, coordinating and leading meetings with governing agencies for small- and large-scale projects, including conducting pre--bid, bid openings, pre-construction, construction progress, final inspection, and project closeout meetings.
• Coordinate the project bid process, including preparation of bid tabulations and award recommendation letters.
• Resource Management: Allocate resources strategically to optimise project outcomes and ensure efficient workflow. - Provide construction administration services, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing pay applications, and managing construction observation and materials testing team members.
• Prepare scope and fee proposals, negotiate contracts with clients, prepare project work plans, monitor project schedules, prepare monthly invoices, and track project budgets and team performance. - Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation including progress reports, budget updates, and project plans.
- Provide clear communication with internal and external team members, clients, and governing authorities.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all projects comply with industry standards and regulations, promoting best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards across all project deliverables.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard project performance.
- Education: BS degree in Civil Engineering or a Civil-related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in civil project management, with proven leadership in managing complex engineering projects.
- Professional Qualifications: PE required 6+ years of experience in site development.
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.

- Well versed in land use and municipal approvals
- Experienced in developing and mentoring a team of junior team members.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and project management software tools.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey project goals and updates clearly.
- Skilled in overseeing project submissions and related documents/forms
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse complex problems and deploy effective solutions swiftly.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in project planning and execution.
- Competitive base salary $90,000-$130,000
