Position Summary:
The Buyer procures supplies and other materials to maximize value and maintain production schedules and office functions.
Responsibilities- Evaluates supplies requirements and determines best sourcing strategy
- Places purchase orders and follows up with confirmations and deliveries
- Responds to emergency requirements from various departments
- Responds to and resolve problems and discrepancies
- High school graduate or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with purchasing or similar complex administrative job
- Knowledge of vendor relationship management
- Basic knowledge of negotiation tactics involving multiple vendors and subcontractors
- Computer skills including MS Office
- Excellent organization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team orientation
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
