Job Overview: We have an immediate opening for a Structural Engineer in Greenville, SC. This position aims to provide essential technical knowledge and perform intermediate-level engineering assignments. The Structural Engineer will work under the direct supervision of the Discipline Lead Engineer or Area Lead Engineer, performing engineering tasks with intermediate complexity across commercial, industrial, and government projects. Key Responsibilities: Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of intermediate complexity in accordance with project requirements. Develop and review specifications and design criteria. Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment, and systems; and solve technical problems of intermediate complexity. Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients. Execute work in compliance with the Project Quality Plan and procedures. Execute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost, and schedule baselines. Establish, control, and report on material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts. Provide technical support for equipment and material procurement, including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations, and vendor submittal reviews. Support construction administration activities, such as responding to construction requests-for-information and field changes. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship is required. Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience. Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards, including Department of Energy orders. Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences, including project management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Job-related technical knowledge to complete tasks efficiently. Intermediate knowledge of discipline codes and standards, and compliance with applicable regulations. Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations. Experience in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services on commercial or industrial projects. Proficiency in executing EPC projects using engineering analysis, 3D modeling, and 2D CAD automation tools in a multi-discipline environment. Discipline-Specific Requirements: Intermediate knowledge of performing hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures. Familiarity with structural design software such as STAAD, STAADPro, and RISA3D. Intermediate skills in Mathcad. Experience analyzing complex structures, including wind and seismic loading, dynamic analysis and design, computer modeling, and blast design. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with systems, structures, and components design for nuclear facilities under ASME NQA-1 requirements. Practical field experience in engineering or construction. EPC project experience in the following industries: U.S. Department of Energy or other U.S. federal government agencies. Nuclear facilities under a nuclear quality assurance program. Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology. Proficiency in STAADPro and Mathcad.
