Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a Data Analyst to work in their Department of Interdisciplinary Studies.
The Data Analyst will work closely with the Sr. Methodologist in data collection, QA and management of different datasets, analysis, communication of the results. This individual will also be responsible for overseeing and training of junior analysts in evidence synthesis methods and approaches. Additionally, the Data Analyst will work closely with the Senior Methodologist when communicating with VA entities and will be expected to attend weekly meetings in addition to other meetings as required. The Data Analyst will also serve as co-author on reports, methodological documents and articles summarizing study findings.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Clean and analyze data and work with Sr. Methodologist to create across the different disease-specific projects.
- Creating reports and articles of findings and assist the Sr. Methodologist and AHBPCE.
- Consolidate and assure integrity of data extraction in online data platform.
- Carry out data extraction, data cleaning, and other tasks as assigned.
- Assist Sr. Methodologist to communicate with AHBPCE and the VA HOME (Health Outcomes Military Exposures) regarding data character, results and outputs (e.g., cleaned data matrices) as needed for different evidence synthesis products: reports for policy decision-making, public and civilian consumption, formal academic manuscripts.
- Assist with training of extractors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Master's degree in data analysis related fields: e.g., statistics, data management, biostatistics, epidemiology,sociology, psychology, pharmacy, medicine + 1 year of related experience with creation, cleaning and management of data repositories.
- History of participation in at least one evidence synthesis project.
- Equivalent experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for the education.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Solid knowledge of study design and risk of bias across designs.
- Ability to identify and extract quantitative data from research reports (e.g., published academicmanuscripts).
- Familiarity with meta-analytic statistical techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with and experience with R and/or Stata is a plus.
- Experience with online evidence synthesis platform.

- No special vision requirements.
- Must be able to lift or exert force up to thirty (30) pounds.
- Lifting, when necessary, of file boxes and supplies.
