Are you ready to be a part of a team committed to changing the world?Who You AreSila Nanotechnologies is looking for an experienced Project Manager for our Capital Projects team to lead and manage the detailed design phase of our large-scale manufacturing building project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, construction management, and project delivery for complex industrial or manufacturing facilities. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, mitigate risks, and ensure that projects progress seamlessly from the conceptual design through to construction readiness.You will use your experience to guide the team in this fast-paced project while identifying and building new design management processes and tools at Sila. You’ll balance rigorous task and resource management with quick decision-making, and be comfortable with ambiguity. You’ll work seamlessly with internal teams and external engineering and construction partners to drive engineering execution and related procurement activities to meet our large-scale capital project objectives at Sila. Responsibilities and DutiesOversee the detailed design/FEL phase, ensuring alignment with project objectives, client requirements, and regulatory compliance.Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication of project goals, timelines, and deliverables.Manage cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to deliver high-quality design packages on schedule.Define and manage the project scope, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project goals while managing scope changes effectively.Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with project objectives. Identify cost-saving opportunities during the design phase.Create and manage detailed project schedules, tracking progress and proactively addressing potential delays.Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the design phase, implementing strategies to address technical and logistical challenges.Ensure that all design deliverables meet industry standards, client specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.Maintain thorough documentation of project activities and deliver regular progress reports to clients and senior leadership.Leverage lessons learned from past projects to improve processes, tools, and methodologies for future work.Knowledge and Skill Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on the detailed design/FEL phase of large-scale industrial or manufacturing projects.Proven experience delivering projects within the manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or similar industries.Strong understanding of engineering disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process) involved in manufacturing facilities.Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and design software collaboration platforms.Familiarity with regulatory requirements, building codes, and permitting processes for industrial projects.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and lead diverse teams effectively.PMP or equivalent certification preferred.Experience with Lean Construction principles or Agile methodologies is a plus.Physical Demands and Working ConditionsMove long distances and be stationary for extended periods of timeWear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoesOccasionally kneel or bendUp to 25% travel (potential for higher during critical construction and start-up activities) to and from build sites and contractors’ design offices The starting base pay for this role is between $172,000 and $218,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills.
