This role leads the Employee Relations function, ensuring a fair and supportive workplace by managing corrective action processes, conducting sensitive investigations, and overseeing leave and accommodation support across our multi-state operations. It also drives key compliance initiatives, including maintaining the Employee Policy Guide, staying current with legal updates, and improving compliance practices to minimize HR legal risks. With a strategic mindset and expertise in employee relations and compliance, this role enhances organizational integrity while mentoring a team of specialists. It's a pivotal position that balances employee support with regulatory excellence. Responsibilities: Ensure company-wide compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws, employment, and leave management. Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures that align with legal requirements, support company goals, and reinforce our Employee Value Proposition. Partner with in-house on pre-litigation employment matters, administrative claims, EEOC, wage claims, and audits. Work closely with in-house counsel to identify and prioritize compliance projects and needs. Partner with internal audit and manage responses to external audits or investigations. Provide guidance on HR compliance matters to leaders and other members of the HR team. Oversee the team managing all aspects of ER, leave administration, and employee relations SMEs. Provide direct support, including mentoring, to our Sr. Manager, Employee Relations and Leave and Accommodations Partners. Lead complex employee relations issues, ensuring all actions comply with company policies and legal requirements. Collaborate with HR Leaders to ensure consistent and compliant HR practices in union and non-union working environments. Partner closely with Labor Relations team, ensuring adherence to CBAs and support of our LR strategies. Work with HR Business Partners and managers to ensure effective content and delivery of training materials. Qualifications: 10+ years in human resources management, focusing on strategic HR roles and employee relations. 4+ years’ experience leading other HR professionals, demonstrating the ability to mentor and develop skills. Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. MBA/Masters degree in HR, Industrial Relations, or Risk preferred. Excellent understanding of all federal employment laws, including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, and NLRA. Experience in a multi-state environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR technology systems (HRIS, ATS, LMS). Come and join our Sparkling team!
