Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

to join its executive team. This role will provide strategic financial leadership, guiding the firm's financial operations and risk management efforts to foster growth and stability. The CFO will work closely with senior leadership to influence key financial decisions and help steer the firm toward long-term success.

Law firm experience is required

for this position. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert financial analysis, business insights, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership to drive improvements in firm performance and achieve strategic objectives. Develop and manage operating budgets, financial forecasts, and cost management strategies focused on productivity, profitability, and revenue growth. Implement and oversee internal financial controls, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and safeguarding firm assets. Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and vendor contracts, with a focus on cost containment and efficiency. Manage specialized accounts, including escrow and IOLTA, ensuring compliance and accurate recordkeeping. Coordinate with external financial advisors to ensure timely tax filings and preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements. Evaluate the financial implications of potential business opportunities, such as lateral hires or firm expansion, and provide strategic financial guidance. Lead efforts to implement new financial systems to enhance operational efficiency and improve financial reporting. Ensure that financial policies and procedures are well-documented, followed, and regularly reviewed across the organization. Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to protect the firm’s financial integrity. Supervise accounting, billing, collections, and financial reporting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and billing. Collaborate with back-office teams (HR, IT, Marketing) to streamline firm-wide operations and enhance onboarding/exiting procedures. Support senior leadership by preparing presentation materials for key meetings and strategic discussions. Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; Master’s degree preferred. CPA certification strongly preferred A minimum of

10 years of experience

in a law firm or professional services environment, with expertise in managing multi-office financial operations. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to advise senior management on complex financial matters. Proven ability to manage multiple financial projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Extensive knowledge of risk management and financial oversight, particularly in a law firm context. Familiarity with law firm-specific financial systems and protocols. Comfortable working remotely, with preference for candidates located on the

East Coast

who are able to travel quarterly for in-person meetings.
