Compliance Specialist

The Job/What You'll Do:

Ensures Solari meets the requirements with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies regarding protected health information from a compliance perspective.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts a full review of behavioral health records being released to external stakeholders
  • Processes records requests in accordance with HIPAA law
  • Orchestrates and participates in compliance audits/reviews
  • Conducts internal investigations, prepares analyses and recommends course of action
  • Suggests areas of improvement based on investigation results
  • Processes data entry for required clinical processes by other departments
  • Responsible for receiving, documenting, and reviewing all reported compliance concerns issues to include but limited to, HIPAA breaches, Conflict of Interests, Fraud Waste & Abuse, and escalating items to the Compliance Officer when necessary
  • Creation of guidelines for best practice of internal procedures
  • Provide education and training to staff regarding compliance
  • Ensure compliance with ethical and empathetic client care through call evaluation
  • Participate in risk management and FMEA with the compliance team
  • Tracks work assignments and issues
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of applicable Arizona laws, processes and procedures to act professionally and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.

Education & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of compliance or behavioral health required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field, Preferred:
    • (NOTE: A comparable combination of education/experience and/or training will be considered equivalent to the education listed above.)



Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties in the office or at a home office, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands; they must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Exposure to noise typical with office operations. Ability to hear and speak.
