We are currently partnered up with a growing Manufacturing client looking to build out their EHS team and add an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist. This individual will report into the EHS Manager and will be on a team of 3 EHS professionals. This role will primarily focus on Environmental but will provide support to the Health and Safety aspect of the team. Description

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:



Environmental Management (80-90%)

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including air quality, wastewater, hazardous waste, and stormwater management.
  • Maintain and update all environmental permits, including permit applications, renewals, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and manage environmental programs to reduce waste, conserve resources, and improve sustainability efforts.
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and inspections to identify and mitigate potential non-compliance issues.
  • Collect and analyze environmental data to prepare required regulatory reports (e.g., Tier II, TRI, air emissions).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental audits and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.
  • Provide training and education to employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.


Health and Safety Support (10-20%)

  • Assist the Health and Safety team in maintaining and improving safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning related to environmental or safety concerns.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections and support the development of job hazard analyses (JHAs).
  • Assist in delivering employee training sessions on safety topics, including hazard communication and emergency response.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety team on initiatives to improve workplace safety culture.

Profile

The ideal Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, ANSI) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including EPA and state-specific requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in data analysis, report preparation, and environmental management systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
  • Certified Environmental Specialist (CES) or related certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification or equivalent is a plus.

Job Offer

The successful Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist - Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:

  • Base salary of $50,000-$75,000 depending on experience
