2 Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Manufacturing Systems Engineer 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Advanced Manufacturing Technology organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA. The Manager Manufacturing Systems Engineer 2 will have the responsibility of defining, developing, implementing, and transitioning new technology solutions to manufacturing to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality, which will include the following responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Manufacturing concept and process solutions for production applications cover advanced technologies including but not limited to composites fabrication, assembly, automation, inspection, direct part manufacturing, LO technologies, as well as digital capabilities. This role requires extensive knowledge and execution of Contract Research & Development (CRAD) activities. This role requires working with Global Supply Chain and needs extensive Small Business Experience. The role requires incorporation of requirements into development plans and evaluation of performance of processes and tools to verify their efficiency. Identify and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure R&D contractual obligations (technical, schedule, and cost) are met and product quality is maintained. Provide guidance regarding design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements to best utilize resources and manufacturing techniques, ensuring compliance with regulations. Interface with internal and external customers, program offices, engineering disciplines, and executive management. Handle multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic/fast-paced work environment. Utilize budgeting and project management skills to properly scope and execute assigned work and manage project efforts. Conduct performance assessments, staffing, employee development, communication meetings, compensation adjustments, training & educational oversight/approval, and other routine personnel issues. Assess, prioritize, and adjust staffing to current and projected program needs. Facilitate engineering support, review, and approval of Bid & Proposal (B&P) requests. Support program gate reviews as the engineering review authority and assist in resolution of program engineering challenges (technical, financial, and staffing). Coordinate across programs and functions for common efficiencies and operational gains. Make decisions that impact the organization, operations, and services. Comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions. Experience in generating requirements, specifically, the ability to turn vague customer needs or stakeholder inputs into requirements. Siemens NX, TcE, CPLM, SAP, and Manufacturing Execution Systems. Experience with production assembly/fabrication and/or production manufacturing operations. Technical Writing capability. Experience in hardware/software integration of manufacturing systems, architecture, design & integration experience for engineering systems and software. Experience with production assembly/fabrication including Digital Transformation, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, Systems Integration, IIoT, RFID, and/or production manufacturing operations. Experience with advanced networking capabilities. Knowledge of Cryptology. Working knowledge of classified information systems infrastructure. Ability to use Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and concepts to define functions and develop functional and performance requirements.

Salary Range:
$156,500 - $234,700 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
