Responsibilities
* Under indirect supervision, provide independent primary care in a correctional healthcare setting to a specified population of non-emergency patients * Perform medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultation, and health education * Obtain patient histories and develop patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format * Supervise and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and/or support staff * Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions * Prescribe medications and other treatments * Participate in planning programs and in developing specific health polices and procedures
Qualifications
* Current license as a Nurse Practitioner * Current CPR certification, ACLS certification preferred * Two (2) years of experience as a NP * Proficient with electronic medical records * Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
