Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is currently seeking a Full Time Accounting Clerk for its Finance Department located in Newark, New Jersey.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Performs a range of general clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping support functions 
  • Provides accounting and clerical support to the finance department. Prepares and maintains accounting documents and records
  • Codes, posts, and receives payments. Prepares and coordinates bank deposit activities. Prepares general ledger postings and statements
  • Performs all necessary reconciliations in a timely manner. Researches, tracks, and restores accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Enters data for financial transactions on a daily basis
  • Researches cash receipts, bank deposits, custodial transactions, and other items when requested
  • Performs filing and general administrative tasks
  • Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree in finance or related field
  • 1-3 years experience in finance, business or accounting is preferred but not required
