In this position...
The HV EDS Connection Systems TS Position is needed to lead the evaluation, development and robust design/implementation of advanced technologies/materials, and future connection/termination systems for high voltage EDS connection system applications.
The increase in Electrical & Electronic features and systems and complex Electrical Architectures for both Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) EDS has led to significant wire harness Connection Systems (e.g., Connector Housings, Bulk Wire, Flat Wire, Terminals, Materials, Sealing, etc.) design complexity and packaging challenges. The scope of EDS Connection Systems design and development spans hundreds of HV and LV components over many global vehicle programs. Further, growing adoption rates in EVs, multiplexing, and high-power components increase constraints on vehicle packaging necessitating the need for advanced technologies in EDS Connection Systems (e.g., Specialty Cable Connectors, Module Header Connectors, Harness Inline Connectors, Bulk Wire, Busbar, etc.) to facilitate Connector Standardization, module/component size reduction and optimal harness routing in this environment. The HV EDS Connection Systems TS Position is needed to lead the evaluation, development and robust design/implementation of advanced technologies/materials, and future connection/termination systems for high voltage EDS connection system applications.
This position will be a Ford SPOC resource for HV EDS Connection Systems (e.g., Connector housings, terminals/termination systems, materials, sealing, eyelets, wire conductors, etc.) and will be responsible for the associated advanced core strategies, program implementation, specifications, design rules, processes, as well as design, component manufacturing, and assembly feasibility.
What you'll do...
•Ownership of SDSs, performance specifications, Design Rules, verification methods, DVPs, TDR checklists for HV EDS Connection Systems.
•Ownership of generic HV EDS Connection Systems Robustness Documents (e.g., Boundary diagrams, IAs, P-diagrams, DFMEAs, SCCAFs, etc.); Development and ownership of Robustness Documents for new/emerging EDS Connection Systems.
•Lead EDS Connection Systems Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) and signoffs.
•Steering member of HV EDS and Connector Tech Clubs.
•Represent HV EDS Connection Systems in the Architecture Tech Club, VO Tech club, other cross-functional tech clubs as required.
•Ownership of Ergonomic standards for HV EDS Connection Systems design.
•Ownership of Thermal design standards for HV EDS Connection Systems.
•Contribute to development/improvement of Requirements, Test methods, etc. of interfacing organizations that affect HV EDS Connection System Design.
•Contribute to advancement of analytical/CAE tools to optimize and/or validate designs.
•Support development of HV EDS Mechanical and Electrical Joint requirements (i.e., eyelet design/plating).
•Global Leadership/Facilitation of HV EDS Connection Systems root cause identification and prevent action implementation as issues arise, etc.
•Provide consultation/leadership in resolving HV EDS Connection Systems program reliability/robustness technical issues.
•Support EDS Advanced strategies as HV EDS Connection Systems Core Technical lead (Connector Housings, Terminals, Plating/Materials, Eyelets, etc.).
•Collaborate with the cross-functional organization including EDS vehicle and battery applications teams to provide a single-point of contact when developing and implementing HV EDS Connection Systems.
•Obtain continuous feedback from EDS teams to improve HV EDS Connection Systems Technologies, specifications and documentation.
•Lead and represent the interests of Ford Motor Company at industry forums (e.g., SAE, Wire Harness Conferences, etc.).
•Lead the creation of and conduct training, seminars, mentoring to support Ford TMM and Tier 1, Tier 2 supplier development (Core Connection Systems technologies, Design, Validation, etc.).
