The IT Manager/Administrative Coordinator - Project Coordinator I, will identify and document the functional offices' business needs. These needs will be resolved through application configuration changes made within the ERP being supported, or through third party or custom solutions provided by the team. The Level I project coordinator will create functional design specifications with the guidance of upper management within the IT department, as well as from the end user offices. They will work with the IT department technical team to resolve the business need. They will be able to manage all project phases in order to complete application analysis, design, development, configuration, and other technology services in support of the customers' mission objectives and project needs.
The IT Manager/Administrative Coordinator - Project Coordinator I will support one or more of the SIU ERP tools, including:
AIS (Administrative Information System):
The SIU System's administrative toolset that integrates each campus with the President's office, encompassing ERP modules such as Human Resources, Payroll, General Ledger, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, and Fixed Assets. SIS (Student Information System):
The toolset for SIU Carbondale that supports Enrollment Management, including Admissions, Bursar, Registrar, and Financial Aid functions. Third-Party and Custom Applications:
In addition to the ERP solutions, the incumbent will assist in the creation and maintenance of interfaces with several third-party and custom applications. This position reports to the Associate Director of one of the ERP teams they support. Staff assigned to work for this person may include technical associates(analysts) and other Project Coordinator I staff.
Note: There are two positions available.
Examples of Duties
This person will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities: a. (30%) Serve as project leader on assigned projects which consists of preparing project documentation, work plans and schedules; coordinate day-to-day activities to ensure the pre-established plans are followed; coordinate the work of others throughout the project life cycle; insure solution quality assurance is delivered; b. (25%) Analyze and define administrative problems; c. (25%) Collaborate with Information Technology and business offices(s) to design technological solutions that efficiently and effectively support the University's business objectives; d. (10%) Research problems reported by the campus administrative offices and identify solutions. Work closely with the development team and software support as required to meet the business objectives; e. (5%) Ensures that consistent practices are followed to maintain the integrity of the system; f. (5%) Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
1. Any one or any combination totaling 5 years (60 months) from the following categories: A) College course work which includes Information Systems Technologies (IST), Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), Project Management, Organizational Leadership, Business, Workforce Education, or any closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B) Progressively more responsible work experience in application development, data analysis, or business analysis.
