The YouVersion Team Leader (YTL) of Architecture is primarily responsible for defining and leading the architectural vision, strategy, and principles aligning with the overall YouVersion strategy. The YTL will focus on driving strategy to ensure our technology supports YouVersion's growth and innovation objectives while delivering seamless, secure, and scalable experiences to our users. The YTL of Architecture will collaborate with multiple teams to innovate and support team objectives. The YouVersion Team Leader is responsible for casting vision, providing direction, and leading ministry efforts within their teams to outcomes that further the Life.Church's mission and reach people for Christ.

What You'll Do
Meet with direct reports regularly to provide support through coaching and setting expectations. Develop and cast a clear vision and direction for the team. Create development plans for team and support progress in achieving desired goals. Provide direct support setting and maintaining the department budget. Oversee the hiring of staff. Collaborate with YouVersion leadership to drive innovation and align technology roadmaps with business objectives. Design scalable, secure, high-performance software architectures for mobile applications and developer platforms. Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the industry. Oversee architectural governance, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and guidelines. Establish and deliver strategic engineering and architecture initiatives. Work across the engineering team to shape software development to meet YouVersion's objectives and key results. Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Partner with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and operations, to deliver high-quality software solutions. Empower engineering to improve the manageability, quality, and supportability of YouVersion's products and services. Skills Needed to Succeed
Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems with innovation. Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships. Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to balance short-term deliverables and long-term technical goals. Strong leadership skills and understanding ofdeveloping and guiding others. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, Master's preferred. 15+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience with leading both software development and architecture teams required. Proven experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering practices and culture. Proven track record of leading software architecture in a fast-paced B2C environment, with a strong emphasis on mobile applications. Expertise in mobile platforms and related technologies, frameworks, and tools. Deep understanding of cloud-based architectures, microservices, DevOps, and modern development practices.
