The Office of Marketing and Brand Management (https://usm.maine.edu/office-of-marketing-and-brand-management/) is currently building a team with a focus on digitalization, storytelling, branding, and data-driven approaches to marketing strategy. You will drive all marketing campaigns for USM – working with leadership on designing a strong strategy with clear goals across audiences. You will then work with our partner agencies and team members to drive our campaigns from conceptualization to execution to performance.
You will report on campaign performance, drive changes to our strategy in real time based on evolving goals and performance data, and execute on feedback from stakeholders. You will own agency relationships and drive projects with both our agencies, and members across the team to support the campaign needs. You will manage one full time staff operational member, and manage all budget spends related to campaign spending and agency costs.
Pay and Benefits: This is a full-time position with a starting annual salary up to $75,000. Location: This position will be based primarily on the Portland campus with occasional work on our Gorham and Lewiston campuses as needed. Potential to work remotely one day per week may be considered after the probationary period.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
At least five (5) years working with marketing campaigns, preferably in a higher education setting, specifically planning automated journeys. Experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and SQL queries a plus.
Experience with planning and project management.
Experience in making data-informed decisions and comfort using Google analytics and other reporting tools.
Experienced in managing a budget.

You are organized with a strong attention and eye for the details.
You can balance multiple projects at the same time, and can make decisions in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple projects and deadlines.
You are a good communicator – able to lead meetings and compile and present digestible and impactful reports.
You have experience in plan and project managing and communicating needs within a task management system and other organizational tools.
You are a strong collaborator and will enjoy the network and expertise provided by working with outside agencies, optimizing their resources. You can proactively wield multiple agencies in unison towards meeting our campaign goals, knowing when to step in with constructive feedback and make tough decisions.
You enjoy driving brainstorms and collaborations – bringing out the best across team member’s work and skill sets and are confident in giving constructive feedback, running edit rounds, etc.
Ability to maintain a constructive and positive dialogue during creative development and edit rounds with your staff, supervisor, team members, and stakeholders.
