Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts, varied days Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years in critical care, experience in Pulmonary Rehabilitation preferred License: Current license to practice respiratory care in Colorado Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program - Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist - Immunization records - TB test within the last year (QuantiFERON) - Influenza shot (required during influenza season) - COVID Vaccine confirmation - Negative 10-panel drug screen results (within the last 30 days) - Resume with work experience - Documented references - Proof of regulatory (OSHA) training - Assessment of skills/competencies - Criminal background check results, including OIG (within the last 30 days) - CAPS check through the State of Colorado (required for all patient care positions) Job Description: - Provide consultation for patient care with respiratory needs per physician order. - Conduct spirometry testing and communicate results to physicians. - Liaison between respiratory services and pulmonologist services in the specialty clinic. - Advise clinical directors on equipment needs and provide staff education on equipment use. - Document all patient consults and care promptly according to health systems and policies. - Implement pulmonary rehabilitation programs according to national standards, communicate program opportunities, and assist with marketing programs to the community. - Conduct patient education related to the pulmonary rehabilitation program and evaluate/update the program as needed. - Assist in developing the charging/reimbursement system and recommend equipment and supply needs for the program. - Monitor and evaluate quality assurance and participate in assigned committees. - Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and regulatory agency standards. - Perform duties in accordance with health vision, mission, and goals. - Complete all other assigned duties.
