The CoCounsel team is accelerating innovation across the entire legal product suite faster than ever before. We are seeking a Sr. Director, CoCounsel Transactional Product Strategy to drive growth in this next stage. This leader will work with our stakeholders and partners to develop strategies that drive growth for Practical Law and other assets within the CoCounsel Transactional product suite. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the success of Practical Law and the CoCounsel Transactional product portfolio by driving significant revenue growth through effective engagement with stakeholders to maximize market reach and revenue potential.
About the role
The Senior Director, CoCounsel Transactional Product Strategy will play a crucial role in working with stakeholders on developing and implementing revenue growth strategies for Practical Law standalone or as part of the CoCounsel Transactional product experiences. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Marketing, Commercial Excellence, and the Segments to maximize revenue and drive growth. The role requires a strong understanding of subscriptions and pricing and packaging strategies, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the Thomson Reuters legal product portfolio. Additionally, this role will ensure effective engagement with channel partners to further enhance our market reach and revenue potential through robust channel engagement.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: Eagan, MN; Ann Arbor, MI; Richmond, VA; Rochester, NY. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $149,700 - $277,900. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Work with stakeholders to provide the product inputs that support developing and implementing growth strategies that align with Practical Law's and CoCounsel Transactional's product vision and market positioning.
- Drive strategic reviews of pricing models, packaging strategies, and go-to-market (GTM) initiatives with stakeholder functions.
- Bring insights and foresights from external and internal sources to inform product strategy decisions and communicate those insights and decisions with clarity and transparency to the organization.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product Marketing, Commercial Excellence, and Segments to ensure cohesive commercial approaches across the portfolio.
- Identify the most strategic growth opportunities and challenges, ensuring they receive appropriate resources and attention.
- Optimize and support engagement with channel partners to expand market reach and drive revenue growth in line with overall portfolio objectives.
- Pre-empt, identify, and remove blockers towards successful execution.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer behavior to drive strategic product priorities.
- Provide data-driven recommendations on revenue optimization and new commercial opportunities that include Practical Law as a component.
- Work with cross-functional partners on developing financial models and forecasts to support commercial strategies.
Organization-wide Communication and Team Management:
- Create informative and persuasive presentations on strategy and performance for executive teams and stakeholders.
- Work with Senior Director, CoCounsel Transactional Strategy and Operations to develop quarterly business reviews and annual plans related to performance and growth initiatives.
- Drive relative prioritization of growth opportunities.
- Manage a high-performing team of individual contributors.
About You:
- Extensive experience in product strategy, particularly in the legal technology or content industry.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of pricing models, packaging strategies, and go-to-market approaches.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth across diverse product lines.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term revenue goals with long-term growth objectives.
