Felix Construction Company is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to perform all aspects of the electrical bid/estimating process for the construction of water and wastewater facilities. This includes review of plans and specs, bid scope and quantity take-offs, solicitation of pricing from subcontractors or suppliers and completion of the bid/estimating effort including closeout. Our projects vary in size and scope and are located throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area ($250k - $20 MM overall scope). The ideal candidate can communicate and work well with all levels of personnel and has strong math and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Seek bid opportunities beyond Felix general contracting work
  • Communicate with engineers, owners, and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, schedule requirements and documents clarifications
  • Complete bid scopes for electrical portion of projects
  • Estimate the electrical portion of projects including electrical, instrumentation, controls and programming (Divisions 16 and 17)
  • Facilitate the internal estimate review process
  • Prepare final assembly of estimate
  • After the bid, collect and organize all bid information for project turnover meetings and assist field operations with change order pricing
  • Assist in maintaining historical data

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years' experience in the industrial electrical construction industry as a project manager or estimator, water/wastewater experience highly desired
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalent Industrial electrical construction experience
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and inspection procedures
  • Well versed in process controls
  • General knowledge of civil activities (excavation, concrete), steel erection and equipment installation a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of IntelliBid and AutoCAD LT a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project a plus
  • Have the legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
