The Michael F. Price College of Business Graduate Programs OKC Office manages a number of graduate programs, including the Master of Business Administration, MS in Finance and MS in Entrepreneurship & Innovation programs. Advisors within the Graduate Programs Office are assigned programs and responsibilities as appropriate. Duties and Responsibilities: Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. May organize special events and projects. Engages in leadership or scholarly activity to further professional advising identity. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) by fulfilling training and reporting obligations related to campus safety protocols. Collaborates with faculty and provides feedback on curricular decisions and course needs. Academic Advising: Monitors the academic health and degree progression of assigned students, including transcript review, enrollment tracking, and active outreach. Oversees student enrollment in MS Finance courses: advises students on course schedules/selections and transfer credits; files the necessary paperwork to allow students to add/drop subjects; communicates with students on academic processes, schedules, and timelines; and coordinates with the Academic Director, faculty, and other departments within and outside the University of Oklahoma as needed on all student enrollment matters. Engages in assessment and data collection. Student Experience: Oversees and enhances the online student experience: keeps the "pulse" of online MS Finance student needs and feedback; supports the design and implementation of online MS Finance orientation activities and exit survey. Recruitment/Admissions: Liaison between University of Oklahoma and transfer institutions. Responds to communications via phone and email in a timely manner. Represents unit at recruitment events. Assists Academic Director with processing of applications and admission decisions. Develops special projects in support of departmental initiatives. Job Requirements
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree,
AND: Minimum of 36 months of experience as a full-time Academic Advisor in higher education. Skills: Effective verbal and written communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to navigate and maintain databases. Skilled in communicating well and building rapport quickly with students, faculty, and staff. Ability to work well in a diverse environment. Detail-oriented for accuracy of data and information. Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Demonstrate ability to learn, interpret, and articulate complex policies and procedures. Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of state, university, college, and major policies and procedures. Willingness to work independently, collaboratively, and under supervision. Committed to maintaining confidentiality and securing sensitive information. Advertised Physical Requirements: Sitting for long periods of time. Communicate effectively. Ability to engage in repetitive motion. Standard office environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
