Job Description: The Tech performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management. It is expected that the Tech will support system wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices.
In addition, this person will actively participate in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined.
Posting Specifics Pay Range:
$28.15/hour + depending on experience (Certified). $25.58/hour + depending on experience (Uncertified)

4x10 hour shifts per week. Monday - Friday, 10:45 a.m. - 9:15 p.m. No call requirements or holiday shifts.

a CST, you
need to know how to: Assist
in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Assemble

organize
and complete
case carts accordin
g to doctor’s preference lists.
Provide
appropriate instrumentation
, suture and all su
pplies as requested and provide and
maintain
a sterile environment. May
assist
surgeon by passing instrume
nts to surgeon during cases.
Count
sponges, needles,

and instruments using proper techn
ique and established policy.
Assist
in maintenance an
d care of specimens and prepare

specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated

NCCT Surgical Technologist certification (TS-C) or

Physical Requirements: Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc). May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
