Job Summary/Description: The Dr. Arnoldo De León Department of History at Angelo State University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Latin American history beginning Fall of 2025. The successful candidate should be able to teach an array of upper division courses that cover the pre-Hispanic period to the present, as well as both halves of the U.S. history survey.

Angelo State University is part of the Texas Tech University system and is a federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution located in the heart of West Texas in the town of San Angelo.

Typical Duties/Job Duties: This tenure-track assistant position will teach a 4/4 load, typically 3 sections of the US History survey and 1 section of advanced Latin American history. They may also support classes in the Ethnic Studies minor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate is expected to be devoted to quality teaching with clear, high standards and to be an active member of Angelo State’s academic community.

Minimum Qualifications: A PhD in History at the time of appointment is required.
