Teacher Salary Scale Minimum: $49,000.00 Maximum: $65,085.00

Ag Teacher: 20 Days Extra Welding Teacher: 20 Days Extra

Minimum Requirements:

Valid Texas teaching certification in either Trade and Industry-Welding or Agriculture Mechanics

OR

Ability to become a certified Trade & Industry by meeting the following:

  1. Option I:
    • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and
    • Two years of full-time wage earning experience within the past ten years in welding.
  2. Option II:
    • Have an associates’ degree from an accredited institution and
    • Two years of full-time wage earning experience within the past ten years in welding

AND

  • Ability to work towards becoming an adjunct welding instructor with community college
  • Applicants for Welding Teacher must hold a current licensure, certification, or registration by a state or nationally recognized accrediting agency in Auto Mechanics.
  • Complete (Statement of Qualifications form with TEA)
  • Complete or be enrolled in an approved Texas Educator Preparation Program. TAC 233.14(f)(1) requires that candidates seeking CTE certification based on skill and experience must complete an approved educator preparation program. Or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
Preferred Requirements: Previous work experience as an instructor in the area of TDL Welding or Ag Mechanics.

Primary Purpose: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in career technical education subject areas assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with administrators, other teachers, students, parents, and other staff.
Ability to employ strategies that lead to student academic success.
Ability to teach in multiple disciplines including operations of CNC Table, Auto or related program.
Serve as an advisor for career technical student organizations to provide leadership, content development, and service learning (SkillsUSA or FFA).
Work closely with CTE Department for all organizational functions, fundraisers, projects, and competition.
