American Medical Staffing is seeking a LPN / LVN Correctional for a local contract job in Waverly, Virginia.

Job Description & Requirements

As a Licensed Practical Nurse in a correctional care setting, you’ll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients.

Responsibilities include:

1. Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of RNs or physicians.
2. Monitor patients' vitals and symptoms—administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
3. Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate interventions as needed.
4. Document all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and timely.
5. Educate patients on self-care techniques and promote health education within the correctional facility.

Requirements:

Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a corrections or similar setting, have a valid LPN license and be willing to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.
