This role focuses on assisting in the build-up of composite aircraft parts and mechanical composite assemblies. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop, optimize, and support manufacturing processes for production environments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in fabrication of composite aircraft components and mechanical composite assemblies.
  2. Utilize engineering and technical information, such as model-based engineering definitions, and engineering dispositions to support the aircraft fabrication.
  3. Support continuous improvement projects to scale composite aircraft builds for production, improving manufacturing processes and tooling.
  4. Problem-solve on the factory floor, revising work instructions for repairs and rework to ensure a safe and timely aircraft build.
  5. Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  6. Provide on the production line technical support to production personnel to ensure accurate execution of composite fabrication and assembly processes.
  7. Support disposition of non-conforming composite parts and assemblies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to minimize scrap and rework.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 1+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a low or high-volume manufacturing setting.
  2. B.S. in Engineering or work experience in a comparable role.
  3. Experience with root cause analysis & corrective actions.
  4. Experience writing and updating work instructions, or technical documentation.
  5. CAD Software (CATIA 3DX)
  6. ION Factory OS (First Resonance)
  7. ENOVIA PLM
  8. Must be a U.S Person (Citizen or Perm Res/Green Card)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Aviation, automotive, med device or other highly regulated manufacturing environment experience
  2. Experience with airframe assembles (i.e. from Boeing or Airbus) is a plus
  3. Experience with composites in manufacturing is a plus (i.e. bike or boat manufacturing)
