Ro Health is looking for a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team at a California State Prison!
This position plays a vital role in collecting and processing laboratory specimens while ensuring a safe, hygienic, and therapeutic environment within the facility.
Details:
- Location: Soledad, CA
- Schedule: 5 days/week, 8-hour shifts
- Higher Pay for Travelers: Additional compensation for those commuting 50+ miles from the facility
- Employment Type: Contract
- Active California Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT-1 or CPT-2)
- At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
- Ability to pass a strict background check
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws for blood specimen collection
- Properly label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
- Follow strict infection control and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transport of specimens
- Communicate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff regarding lab orders and patient needs
- Assist in maintaining phlebotomy supplies and equipment
- Ensure compliance with CDCR policies, state regulations, and facility protocols
