Overview: The Warehouse Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and the activities of the supply chain, ensuring that all employees are working safely and efficiently, and verifying that all materials and products needed to run the business are acquired, processed, stored and delivered in a timely manner. The position will be responsible for receiving, shipping, inventory controls and any other warehouse functions. Purchasing will report to this position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the effort to bring up our main warehouse for GMP use.
  2. Assist with the process of transitioning to ERP system and supervise that system.
  3. Maintain all pharmaceutical distribution regulatory requirements for State licensing and Drug Supply Chain Security Act, through management and updating of SOPs and collaboration with relevant departments (i.e., IT, Finance, Business Development, etc.).
  4. Seeks continuous improvement of all warehouse operations; participates in process improvement initiatives.
  5. Supervise and execute the material movement process, from purchasing the raw materials and receiving, to dispensing and shipping.
  6. Supervise the shipping and receiving operations, including domestic and international shipping of cold chain materials.
  7. Develop/assist in the development and implementation of Supply Chain policies and procedures.
  8. Material handling / dispensing in a cGMP environment.
  9. Receive and record new inventory as it is delivered; inspect and store inventory according to policy.
  10. Conduct physical inventory, compare results to computerized inventory, and reconcile any differences.
  11. Ensure that all stock is replenished and stored in correct locations in the warehouse.
  12. Transfer inventory to trucks for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule.
  13. Schedule materials being transferred to and from warehouse; coordinate transfer of inventory between departments.
  14. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of warehouse practices.
  15. Compliance with all FDA, DEA, OSHA requirements, training and regulations, advising management on needed actions.
  16. Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and policies.
  17. Maintains awareness of safety considerations in the warehouse including use of pallet jack, forklift, ladders, movement of equipment, securing gas cylinders, and lifting and carrying.
  18. Perform safety and cGMP training with staff.
  19. Monitor expenditures; implement corrective actions if needed.
  20. Enforce operating instructions and safety policies.
  21. Resolve routine equipment issues.
  22. Help with production when and where assistance is needed.
  23. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience managing a team in a GMP environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of Warehousing and inventory control systems. Both manual and electronic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.
  • Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Lift License.
  • Ability to lead, train, and mentor other team members.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of employees and work across various departments.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or similar discipline, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in Warehouse management in pharma, biotech, medical device, or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5 years demonstrated working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • 5 years in a people management role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds if/when necessary.
