Transportation Capacity Manager, Amazon Transportation Services

ATS (Amazon Transportation Services) is seeking a Capacity Planning Program Manager to help develop a world-class logistics process that delivers goods on time at the best cost. Our team objective is to manage to excellence freight execution flowing through our transportation networks, specifically focused on transportation capacity, development, quality, and performance.

This role requires an ambitious individual. You’ll represent a critical function within our wider Amazon Transportation Operations, as we work to continuously improve the service levels, capacities, and costs of the Amazon Brazil Transportation Line Haul. This will help us ensure promises to our valued customers are being fulfilled each and every time.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor planning metrics, compare actuals against plans (Daily/Weekly/Monthly), identify gaps, conduct in-depth analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders to address them;
  2. Address daily capacity challenges and serve as the escalation point of contact for planning with site and operations teams;
  3. Take ownership of end-to-end long-term improvement initiatives, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as planned driver utilization% and LH loaded drive time;
  4. Lead weekly capacity planning cycles, incorporate stakeholders' requests, and ensure efficient planning;
  5. Educate stakeholders on capacity planning topics and promote a self-service approach;
  6. Collaborate with Business Intelligence partners to request and develop dashboards and tools for S&OP execution;
  7. Monitor and control critical Cost to serve and performance metrics such as fill rates, on-time arrivals, and touch points/shipments;
  8. Collaborate with ROC and carriers to manage the ordering and cancellation of trucks, ensuring optimal resource utilization;
  9. Identify and develop appropriate performance metrics for each program and ensure consistent measurement and accountability. Pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed; Create new and track existing metrics to detect & remove any defects;
  10. Continual, operational/tactical communication with external customers (Carriers) and internal customers (Fulfillment Centers, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Amazon Logistics);
  11. Systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered;
  12. Analyze existing trucking capacity versus forecasted capacity requirements, particularly with the view of supporting seasonal peak times of year; Work to develop medium-term capacity with carriers;
  13. Analyze and improve network design in partnership with Supply Chain teams to meet best-in-class cost and customer experience results;
  14. Ensure right business metrics are prepared for and participate in regular Operations calls, business reviews, MBRs, etc. Participate in the preparation of strategic documents of ATS area.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree;
- Advanced Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLookUps);
- Fluent English, both spoken and written;
- Stakeholders management experience;
- Program or project management experience;
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements;
- Experience in Capacity Planning and Transportation Background.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Science or Engineering.
