POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Lobby Supervisor is responsible for overseeing front-of-house operations during events at the school district’s Performing Arts Center. This role ensures an exceptional experience for patrons by managing ushers, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and addressing operational needs in the lobby and surrounding areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and support a team of ushers, providing guidance, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring performance.
- Conduct pre-event briefings to communicate event details, expectations, and emergency procedures to the usher team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ushers, resolving questions or concerns during events.
- Greet and assist patrons, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
- Handle escalated patron concerns or issues, such as seating disputes or accessibility needs, with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Monitor patron flow in the lobby and auditorium entrances to ensure smooth operations.
- Enforce venue policies, such as no food or drink in the auditorium and photography restrictions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including monitoring capacity limits and emergency procedures.
- Respond to emergencies, such as medical situations or evacuations, and coordinate with other staff and emergency personnel as needed.
- Coordinate with administration, the Auditorium Supervisor, custodians, and other event personnel to ensure seamless front-of-house operations.
- Address logistical issues in the lobby, such as line management, program distribution, or maintaining cleanliness.
- Ensure all lobby areas are ready for patrons before doors open and assist with post-event cleanup and closing procedures.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with experience managing teams.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures in a public venue.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform light lifting if needed.
- Prior experience in front-of-house operations, event management, or a related field is preferred.
SALARY: $13.00 per hour
