Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) Technician

North Seattle College is looking to hire an HVAC Technician in the Facilities Department.

Salary Range for this position is $55,572 - $72,864 (DOE)

Position Summary:

As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining campus facilities. This includes performing skilled work in diagnostic testing, repair, and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, and steam distribution systems.

The facilities maintenance team plays an important role in providing a safe and healthy environment for students.

What you will be working on:

• Installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of HVAC systems.
• Inspects, maintains, and repairs plumbing, heating, water, cooling, refrigeration, sewer, and fire suppression systems.
• Analyzes and maintains control systems including electrical and electronic sensors; fabricates and installs temperature and humidity controls.
• Monitors and adjusts heat and air conditioning in buildings using automated systems.
• Operates and maintains testing and measuring instruments; keeps records of work performed.
• Estimates times and orders materials and supplies needed for maintenance.
• Communicates effectively with customers, management, and dispatchers.

What you bring as a candidate:

• 5 years of experience with HVAC systems.
• Journey-level standing as HVAC mechanic or steamfitter, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in mechanical trades.

Physical Requirements:

• Moderate physical effort which may include standing, walking, and lifting or moving heavy items up to 50 pounds.
• Indoor/outdoor work environment with some exposure to weather extremes.
