Job Title: Senior Data Analyst

Location: This position can sit in our New York, Chicago, Reston, or Washington D.C. office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Summary:

The Senior Data Analyst in the Data Analytics group is responsible for managing data analytics projects, assisting in driving firm data strategy and innovation, and utilizing advanced analytics techniques to drive decision-making processes. This role requires a combination of strong analytical skills, technical skills, and a passion for leveraging data to achieve business goals. The Senior Data Analyst role utilizes tools such as Power BI to deliver high-impact analytics and reporting, designing complex dashboards, models, and resolving data quality issues. They lead large-scale analytical projects, mentor junior analysts, and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize business problems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize Power BI and other advanced analytics tools to deliver comprehensive and high-impact analytics and reporting solutions.
  2. Collaborate with the Director of Data Analytics, Senior Finance leadership, and other key stakeholders to identify and prioritize complex business problems.
  3. Contribute to the development and execution of the firm's data strategy initiative.
  4. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance data integrity.
  5. Drive and manage large-scale analytical projects that span multiple teams and functions.
  6. Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure project alignment with business objectives and successful execution.
  7. Analyze trends and derive actionable insights to address complex business challenges.
  8. Design and develop advanced solutions to streamline processes, improve data quality, and drive intelligent automation.
  9. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Engage with stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs and provide tailored data solutions.
  11. Present findings and recommendations clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desired Skills:

  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large complex datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable data-driven insights.
  2. Highly proficient in data visualization tools (PowerBI/Tableau).
  3. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, VBA, and data visualization techniques.
  4. Experience with advanced statistical methods and data modeling techniques.
  5. High proficiency in SQL and programming languages (Python/R/VBA) or other relevant programming languages.
  6. Demonstrated experience in the creation of complex queries, data manipulation, and automation of data processes.
  7. Experience with Machine Learning and AI implementation.
  8. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  10. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  2. 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, including experience with data modeling, statistical analysis, and processes.

Physical Demands:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
