Pacific Coast Dermatology and Wellness Center was founded in 2020 to bring healing and restorative skin health services to a broad and diverse community. PCD recognizes that our skin is integral to our overall sense of well-being as our skin is the primary way in which we greet the world.

We specialize in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, treating a wide range of skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, and more. Our team is passionate about delivering personalized care in a welcoming environment, and we are looking for a compassionate and skilled Physician Assistant to join us in helping our patients achieve healthier skin.

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Physician Assistant with a strong interest in dermatology to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills and a passion for dermatology. As a PA at our practice, you will work alongside board-certified dermatologists to assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of dermatological conditions. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your expertise in dermatology and make a meaningful impact on our patients' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and skin examinations.
  2. Diagnose and treat a wide range of dermatological conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, and more.
  3. Assist in performing minor dermatological procedures, such as biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy.
  4. Provide patient education on skincare, preventive measures, and treatment options.
  5. Collaborate with dermatologists to develop and implement treatment plans.
  6. Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., skin cultures, biopsy results, lab work).
  7. Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in dermatology through continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  2. Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  3. Valid state license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  4. Strong clinical skills and interest in dermatology.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with patients.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  7. Commitment to providing excellent patient care in a dermatology setting.
  8. One year Dermatology experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in dermatology or a dermatology-focused rotation during PA training.
  2. Familiarity with dermatology-specific procedures and treatments.
  3. Experience using EMR systems (e.g., [list your EMR system]).
